Here’s What You Missed on the Smart Building Summit 2018

Controtek Solutions, in partnership with Beckhoff Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), recently launched the Smart Building Summit 2018, an event aiming to introduce and augment the awareness and knowledge of Philippine companies with Smart Building and Building Automation. Delegates from major construction, architecture, property developer, mall, and building administration companies in the Philippines have participated.

Making buildings smarter

The event started with Controtek’s managing director, Alvin Rolda, formally welcoming the delegates with a presentation on how automation can improve operations and overall business process.

As a building manager, the key is being able to monitor your building’s “health,” and making it tell you how it “feels” the same way a smart watch, for example, tells you your current heart rate or how far have you ran today. Bringing your building’s intelligence to a level where you can talk to them.

Making this possible is where automation comes into play. Automation, in general, applies not only to building management, but also production and manufacturing. It serves as the bridge connecting your Information Technology and Operational Technology. This way, management of supply chain from end to end is now possible in a single platform!

Followed by Aki Kalajainen, Marketing and Training Manager all the way from Beckhoff Automation GmbH (Germany). Sharing intelligent building projects for companies such as Microsoft Belgium, Dolder Grand Hotel Sqitzerland, Anima Care Belgium, Teatro Alla Scala Italy, and many more!

Yeo Chern Tai, Marketing Manager from Beckhoff Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) speaks next showcasing how building automation transformed building management in Singapore and how is this concept applicable and, in fact, necessary in the Philippines.

David Chia, Managing Director of Beckhoff Pte. Ltd. shares what a world powered with smart automation would be. More productive man hours, longer lasting equipment, and an intelligent production plant are just the beginning!

The final part is the knowledge sharing and open discussion where the delegates submitted questions to be answered by the guest speakers.
