What is Smart Grid?
Smart Grid is an electrical grid that gets energy from a variety of resources and energy measures including smart meters, smart appliances, renewable energy resources (wind, solar, hydroelectric, etc.), and other energy efficient resources. But smart grid is more than just a generation and transmission infrastructure, technologies surrounding this concept are made possible by two-way communication technologies, control systems, and computer processing.
Controtek uses the latest automation and digital communications technology to detect and react to local changes in usage of electricity in the supply network. A display was showcased during the event with live interface experience for the guests to enjoy.
Automation in Energy Management
Proper energy management is the key to improving energy saving. Enertek® is Controtek Solutions’ smart energy management solution. It is a complete Automation and SCADA solution for power generation and distribution with intuitive and advanced controls for power measurements, power analysis, energy demand and set-point, protection status and diagnostics, with integrated reports generation and cost-centred management.
In Controtek, we believe that being smart grid-ready is the way to go and the direction Philippines should take. In 2018, we still have areas experiencing abrupt power outages, what’s worse is some parts of the country doesn’t even have access to national power lines. With smart grid and use of renewable energy sources such as solar energy, we might be able to eradicate these issues.
